About Me

Its a secret

Rick Perry and Illegal Aliens

Our family is one of maybe 3 English speaking families on our street. I am actively learning Spanish in order to be able to communicate with my neighbors. I’ve seen so many people who are quick to condemn them all (the illegal ones, I’m guessing if they don’t speak English then yah… probably illegal) to a fiery pit if that was allowed. However, I TRY to put myself in their shoes. If my daughter was born in Mexico where a violent drug war is going on (which seems to be largely caused by the USA’s War Against Drugs) then I would do what it took to get her to a safe plays. Laws be damned.

That being said, I understand why people dislike Illegal Immigration. It is a strain on our resources. So long as we are forced to pay for government education and entitlement programs, we cannot afford to accept the teeming masses yearning to be free from each and every country like we used to be able to. Until entitlement programs are reformed, or eliminated, we must do something to secure the border in my honest opinion.

Which brings me to Rick Perry billing the Federal Government over incarcerating illegals.

Perry, oh Perry… why do I dislike you so? Yes, Texas has seen less economic problems than other states, so I can’t say that I hate his guts. The stench of snake oil that wafts from this guy is just overpowering though. As a Christian, Perry’s pandering to Christians with his statewide day of prayer really burns me. Not that I mind praying, it’s just that he seems to be using religion as a pawn. I’m thankful that my church didn’t moon over his little event. I might would have thrown up right then and there. Not even going to go into the Guardacil/pharmaceutical special interests deal where real people got hurt because RP wanted to line his pockets, but that bugs me too.

Where was I? Oh yeah… Immigration. NOW he is wanted to look tough by billing the Federal Government for incarcerating illegal aliens?! Maybe I tend to see everything he does as shameless pandering, but… I call it like it is. He seems to likes to talk a big talk about states rights, but doesn’t do anything about the illegals in the first place. Maybe there is some law that I am unaware of, but can’t Texas close the holes in it’s own border with Mexico? I’m just so sick of politicians who whine about the problems that they have while in office, and rather than do something about it, they just blame another politician. I know he’s trying to look tough on illegal immigration by doing this, but seriously dude…. QUITE WHINING!
